China Wire - 1996
The ChinaWire business opportunity arose out of what ChinaWire understands is the desire of the Chinese government to elimate the illegal couier services bringing funds into China from all over the world, which ChinaWire believes is the primary method for funds to be brought into China today. In 1992, China’s State Council directed the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to reenter the international money wire transfer business that it had historically preformed prior to the formation of the PRC. The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has managed, for over 70 years, what ChinaWire believes is a reliable internal remittance system. With approximately 55,000 post offices located throughout China, the postal system is the largest money wire network in China. According to the Almanac of China’s Finance & Banking Annual Review, in 1993 the Chinese postal system handled approximately 280 million wire transfer transactions valued at approximately U.S. $13 billion.
